BlastBall is offered for our youngest members (3-5 years old) to learn the basics of baseball in a fun, high-paced and highly engaging format. The teams are small, the action is non-stop and all players are able to learn and succeed as a team.
Objective: To provide a fun, rewarding and exciting introduction to the game of baseball with a focus on basic fundamentals (throwing, catching, hitting and running).

With its focus on grassroots development, EABA has reduced registration costs to the greatest extent possible. BlastBall is one of the most affordable summer sport options in the city and includes:

*1 hour indoor camps will run:- Sunday, April 16, 2023, between 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
at Turf Training Centre 1 - Field A (5820 59 Ave NW) - Sunday, April 23, 2023 between 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
at Turf Training Centre 1 - Field B (5820 59 Ave NW)

- BlastBall is safe
The balls, bats and bases are soft so players can learn the game in a safe manner. The game also lends well to physical distancing and other COVID restrictions.
- BlastBall is fun!
There is continual action and so many opportunities for players to succeed. It’s a great introduction to team play in a very child-friendly format.
Details:
- NEW: EABA will expanding it's BlastBall program to better serve it's members. For the 2023 season EABA will be offering members the option of playing at a location in the Capilano / Boonie Doon / King Edward Park area of southeast edmonton
- Season runs from the start of May through to the end of June.
- Program is supported by volunteer parent coaches. This is a great way to be involved, connect with your player and make a difference for kids.
- Members have the option of registering their players for the following game times and locations:
Mondays and Wednesdays Only
- Games at Capilano / Boonie Doon / King Edward Park area
Newly Confirmed: Maurice-Lavallée field (92 - 95 St NW)
Tuesdays and Thursdays Only
- Games at Mill Woods Sports Park (2730 - 66 St NW)
- Weinlos Park (2911-48 St NW) behind Weinlos School
- Games start at 6:00 pm and end by 7:00 pm
- Teams consist of 4-6 players
- The first 15-20 minutes of each game are spent as separate teams. Coaches will lead players through a dynamic warm-up and practice drills focusing on basic fundamentals. Once completed, teams will convene for a game.
- Game play will last 30-40 minutes, depending on player engagement. During the game, teams take turns switching between hitting and fielding positions. There are no outs, no scores and only one base, which honks when it is stepped on. All players hit in each “inning”.
- Optimal participation age is 4-5 year-olds who are new to baseball. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Parents are expected to stay and help participate with their child (not a drop-off program).
