FAQs

Why should I join Edmonton Amateur Baseball opposed to other baseball programs offered in the South East of Edmonton?
Under the governance of Baseball Alberta we offer a full scope program from grass roots to competitive play

When does the Baseball season start and finish?
The 'A' division season typically begins in the first week of May depending on field conditions and ends at the end of June, with the opportunity to play provincials in July, if the player chooses.

How old does my child need to be to start playing baseball?
If your child turns 4 by June of the calendar year, they can register for rally cap.

Do you offer different levels of play?
Yes, we offer 'A' and 'AA' baseball.

How do I register?
Registration is done online or in person. Times and place will be posted on the website when the dates have been finalized.

How long is the 'AA' season?
The 'AA' division runs from the beginning of May until the end of July. Provincial championships are in early August.

What does my child need for equipment?
Rally Cap players must have a baseball helmet, glove, running shoes, and baseball pants, sweat or track pants. EABA will provide a player shirt and baseball caps.

Rookie players must have: a CSA approved baseball helmet, glove, running shoes or cleats and baseball or sweat pants. EABA will provide a player jersey (to be returned at the end of season), undershirt and baseball cap.

Mosquito, Peewee, Bantam & Midget 'A' players are required to have a CSA approved baseball helmet, glove, cleats, red belt, protective cup and grey baseball pants. Players may bring their own bats as long as they fall within the bat regulations specific to their age category. EABA will provide a player jersey (to be returned at the end of the season), as well as an undershirt and baseball cap for the player to keep.

‘AA’ players are required to have a CSA approved baseball helmet, glove, cleats, red belt, practice pants, protective cup and white game day baseball pants. Players may bring their own bats as long as they fall within the bat regulations for each age division. EABA will provide one player jersey (to be returned at the end of the season), a second jersey, an undershirt, and a baseball cap for the player to keep.

All players (with the exception of Rally Cap) MUST provide a $150 jersey deposit cheque at time of registration. Without receipt of a jersey deposit cheque, registration will be considered incomplete and players will not be eligible to begin the season.

What will it cost for my child to play?
All costs to play are covered by your registration fee. Please refer to the divisional tabs for cost breakdown. There are additional fees for the 'AA' play.

Where will my child be playing?
Our home diamonds are located at 7003 – 23 Avenue NW. Accessible off 23 avenue heading westbound between 66 street and Mill Woods Road South.

Rally Cap and Rookie divisions play on our home diamonds or on school diamonds close by.

Our 'A' division league teams from Mosquito and up travel within the Edmonton area.

Our 'AA' division teams travel within Alberta.

Does my child have to be evaluated?
Yes. All players are evaluated for Mosquito 'A' and up.  The purpose of the evaluations is to have all teams of an equal skill level in each division to allow for fair play.

Our 'AA' players must attend tryouts.

Can I request my child to play with a sibling or friend?
We do allow sibling requests if they are close in age; however, we do not allow player friend requests as we believe it is healthy for kids to build new friendships.

How can I help?
